4 Unique Hotels In the US
There are many reasons why people travel. However, one of the most common reasons is because they want to experience something they wouldn’t get to experience normally in everyday life. It’s common to get stuck in routines, which is why many people like to travel to new places to break up the monotony. That being said, if you always stay in the same kind of hotel, in the same kind of room, are you really breaking up the monotony? Probably not. That’s why, in today’s blog post, we’re going to talk about some of the most unique hotels in the United States. Not only are these hotels quirky and fun, but they are also something you can’t experience anywhere else. Beckham Creek Cave Lodge
If you’ve always loved caves or you’ve wanted to know what it’s like to sleep underground, the Beckham Creek Cave Lodge is for you! This unique cave experience is nested in a natural cavern in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. The cave lodge features four bedrooms and four bathrooms, comfortably housing eight people in 5,800 square feet of space. While the idea of sleeping in a cave may not sound the most appealing to most people, you may change your mind once you tour this lodge. The cave is decorated in a very modern chic look, giving you all the luxuries of staying in your own home, but underground. In fact, you may even forget you’re sleeping in a cave after a while!
Dog Bark Park Inn
Looking for a place to take the dog-lover in your life? Boy do we have an idea for you! Located in Cottonwood, Idaho, the Dog Bark Park Inn is a unique hotel that is shaped like a giant beagle. The Dog Bark Park is home to the world’s two largest beagles, Toby and Sweet Willy. Unfortunately, these two dogs are made of wood, but the best part is that the hotel is actually located inside Sweet Willy! You enter the lodging area from a private second-story deck where you’re greeted by a cozy, dog-themed setting that sleep four in a queen bed located up a flight of stairs in the dog’s muzzle, and two twin fold-out side-by-side mats in the loft.
Madonna Inn
If you’re someone who enjoys whimsical, uniquely themed hotel rooms, the Madonna Inn is the place for you! No, this inn wasn’t named after the iconic singer. It was actually named after the creator of the inn, Alex Madonna, and his wife.
Located in San Luis Obispo, California, what makes this hotel stand out is the fact that it has over 200 rooms. This may sound typical for any modern-day hotel, but the Madonna Inn has more than 200 rooms that are each designed with a unique and whimsical theme, ranging from the Madonna Suite covered in pink florals to a Safari Room covered in jungle prints. Each room is completely unique from the next. To take the wow factor of this inn even further, many of the rooms feature rocks and boulders used in both fireplaces and in the showers. It’s truly a sight to behold, and one you can’t get anywhere else.
Jules’ Undersea Lodge
While the hotels we mentioned previously are truly something to behold, this next hotel may take the cake. Instead of sitting on dry land, or even a few feet under it, this hotel is completely underwater. While there are hotels throughout the world that start on dry land and have an elevator that takes you below sea level, this hotel requires its guests to scuba dive 21 feet underwater in order to get to the entrance of their room.
The Jules’ Undersea Lodge is located in Key Largo, Florida and is home to Jules’ Lagoon, which gives their SCUBA instructors the ability to teach their students everything they need to know if the weather is unfavorable and they are unable to complete the instruction in the ocean.
When you stay at this hotel, you will first check in at the front office where you will fill out paperwork, give your pizza order, and receive your top-side orientation. You will then prepare your personal items for transport. The SCUBA instructors will prepare you for your descent, and then you will make your way to your unique underwater hotel!
